The EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will take effect in May 2018 and cover the European Union across all 28 EU members. It’s a new legal framework in the EU that aims to protect citizens regarding the processing and use of personal data. In the UK, the requirement to be compliant will be unaffected by the planned exit from the EU in 2019.
